42nd Battalion RHC Pipe Band - Tentative Itinerary

Tuesday November 6th
- Depart Montreal
Wednesday November 7th
- Arrive Brussels, Belgium
- Travel to Ypres
Thursday November 8th
- Join up with RHC Association Tour to visit Vimy Ridge (Service of Remembrance),
- 20:00 Menin Gate ceremony.
Friday November 9th
- Travel to Mons.
- Visit Saint-Symphorien Military Cemetery, burial location of first British and last Canadian soldier killed in WW1.
- Mons Cemetery where five 42nd Bn. Soldiers are buried who died on 10 November 1918.
- Visit Mons Memorial Museum.
Saturday November 10th;
- Travel to Wallers - Arenberg, France
- Ceremony and reception in Wallers - Arenberg, France.
- Visit Auberchicourt British Cemetery, Auberchicourt, France, where seven RHC are buried, 4 who died in Wallers.
- Visit Jemappes Cemetery, two 42nd Bn. died there on 10 November 1918.
Sunday November 11th
- 10:30 Plaque unveiling, at 34 Place du Parc.
- 10:50 Parade to Grande Place (Hotel de Ville).
- 11:00 Remembrance ceremony
- 11:20 Pipe Band and re-enactors march from Grande Place (Hotel de Ville) to Caserne Guillaume (Barracks) following original route and photos.
- 12:00 Reception at Hotel de Ville.
- 15:30 Parade of Liberation to Grande Place
- 16:00 Memorial Ceremony
- 17:00 Carillion concert
Monday November 12th
- Travel to and depart from Brussel to Montreal
